TOM HURNDALL (1981-2004)

It seems like yesterday when I heard about the shooting of Tom Hurndall. Here was an open & shut case of cold-blooded murder & to this day all we ever hear is cries of anti-Semitism & Israel has a right to defend itself. Instead of raising hell, our bent, pathetic politicians failed to do a thing. I remember saying – first of all, this country can ill-afford to lose such wonderful souls. To be so brave to go to Gaza where you know the Israelis virtually have a licence to execute unarmed civilians & worse still, HAVE THE WILL TO DO SO? I felt ashamed – we bowed to these thugs.

Then I thought imagine what would happen if an unarmed Israeli was shot in the head by a British soldier here. There would have been all hell to pay. The consequence of allowing the Israelis to get away with such blatant murders is the worst part. Fact is they have no intention of stopping. This is why ever since, Palestinian kids have been used as target practice. Now everyone’s fair game. Even unarmed women are being executed in cold-blood. All the Israelis have to do is make up any old bullshit lie & the contemptuous media does the rest. Thanks to Joe McPhillips for sending me this from ‘If Americans Knew’ –

Today is the anniversary of Tom Hurndall’s death. Tom was a 21-year-old British student and photographer who went to Gaza in 2003. On April 11, he watched as children playing nearby suddenly came under Israeli rifle fire. Most of the children fled, but three of them, aged four to seven, froze with fear. Tom rushed one to safety. When he returned for two little girls, an Israeli sniper shot him in the head.

Israeli officials delayed his transport to specialized medical care for over two and a half hours. Tom remained in a vegetative state until his death 9 months later. Learn more:
